General Furniture Care :
You can take some simple steps to ensure a long life for your furniture:
TO PROTECT AND CARE FOR YOUR FURNITURE, WE SUGGEST THE FOLLOWING:
Avoid placing your furniture in direct sunlight, as sunlight causes fading.
Avoid extreme changes in temperature by arranging furniture away from radiators, heat and air vents and air conditioning units.
Avoid placing plastic or rubber materials (lamp bases, notebooks, placemats, etc.) on your furniture, as certain plastics contain ingredients that
may damage the finish.
Periodically rotate accessories on furniture so they do not sit in the same spot all the time.
Use pads, cloth or felt to protect the furniture surface from plastic, rubber, hot dishes, beverages, bookends, flowerpots and vases.
Clean up spills immediately. Use a blotting rather than a wiping action. Water left over a long period of time will cause white spots in the finish.
Alcohol, perfume, after-shave and medications can cause severe finish damage.
Use a protective pad when writing with a ballpoint pen on the furniture surface.
Lift and place objects rather than dragging them across the furniture surface.
Avoid placing furniture directly under windows.
Try and use a tablecloth or any thick quality cloth on your dining table or any other table which is subject to daily and heavy use
Do not keep warm or cold items directly on a furniture surface; instead use a hot pad or coasters; please do not keep hot items like a tawa or baking
dish even on a hot pad
Avoid placing items like burning candles or irons on any furniture as the heat generated from them may affect the life of your furniture in the long
run, make use of candle holders to avoid melting wax touching the furniture
Cleaning your furniture items regularly will help you maintain them for a long time, make sure that you clean your furniture gently with a soft lightly
damp cloth; using a rough rag and pressing it hard against the wood might lead to minor scratches
In case of a spill on the furniture, never try to wipe it as it will spread the spill and hamper the polish, instead just blot the spill

Chairs & Tables:
All furniture should be checked regularly to ensure the joints, fixings and bolts have not worked loose. These should be periodically tightened
to ensure the longevity of your furniture. Dragging any furniture will damage the joints and loosen the fixings.
Table Tops:
For Polished surfaces we recommend you use table mats or other protectors instead of direct contact to avoid scratches & peeling with heat.
To clean the table tops, whether they are polished wood or laminates we recommend you use a damp cloth and then buff with a dry one.
Fabrics:
Spills can be removed by a dry cloth if done immediately. Professional dry cleaning may be required for more stubborn stains. No fabric is
stain/water resistant unless specified.
Leather:
Care & maintenance of the various leathers we use is available upon request and a leather cleaning kit can be purchased. No leather is stain
resistant unless specified.
Wood Finishes:
All of our wood finishes can be maintained by simply wiping with a soft chamois leather moistened with tepid water. If the coating becomes
very dirty, you can add a small amount of a mild detergent to the water ensuring that you wipe the water off with a soft dry cloth leaving the
surface completely dry.
It is inadvisable to use wax containing polishes as these will create a build up of residues on the lacquered surface. This will then attract dust
and dirt which make the furniture appear dirty. Wax residues can also alter the degree of sheen on the surface i.e. matt finishes may appear
glossy.
We recommend that you avoid using industrial cleaners and detergents as some may cause damage to the lacquered surface and cause visible
and lasting damage.
Cleaning Marble: Use mild, non-abrasive detergent and water Removing Stains from Marble: Use soap and water or stain removing powders
from your local home improvement center. Any acidic stains will namely lemon, vinegar will be permanent.
